Privacy policy

ShipTrace, LLC operates a package tracking portal for businesses. This policy covers the personal information we hold, why we hold it, and what we never do with it.

Who we are

ShipTrace, LLC, 1010 E Dallas Rd, Suite 101, Grapevine, TX 76051, United States. ShipTrace is the operator of this service and the sender of every message described in this policy. Questions go to hello@shiptrace.ai.

What we collect

Account information. The name, work email address and company of each person we create an account for. There is no self-serve signup; we create every account at a customer’s request.

Contact details entered by an account holder.Names, email addresses and mobile numbers that an account owner adds so ShipTrace can notify those people about their own company’s packages.

Package data. Your own package references and classifications, the identifiers of the smart labels your team activates, and the positions those labels report as they travel.

Operational records. Sign-in sessions, and a log of the notifications we sent you, so we can answer whether a message was delivered.

Website analytics. Our public website at www.shiptrace.ai uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, which sets cookies in your browser for that purpose. The signed-in portal carries no third-party analytics: where your packages are is your business data, not our marketing data.

Why we hold it

To run the service you are paying for: to show you where your packages are, to tell the people you nominate when something happens to one, to sell and ship you labels, and to keep the account secure. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not sell data, and we do not use any of it to market to the people whose details you enter.

Text message alerts

ShipTrace Alerts is our own text message programme. We send it in our own name, to people our customers nominate, about those customers’ own packages. We do not send text messages on behalf of any other business, we do not carry third-party or affiliate content in them, and the programme sends no marketing or promotional messages of any kind.

If an account owner enters a mobile number and turns on the text channel, we send that number one message asking it to confirm. We send nothing further to it unless it replies YES. Replying STOP ends messages to that number permanently, and we never invite a number that has replied STOP again.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories of information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Mobile numbers and their consent status are held separately for each customer organization and are never pooled between customers, exported, rented or sold. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers required to operate ShipTrace, and only with what they need: our hosting and database provider, our payment processor, our email and text message providers, our map tile provider, our public-website analytics provider, and the tracking network that operates the smart labels. They act on our instructions, may not use your information for their own purposes, and may not use it for marketing.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of sharing described in this section, including from the service providers listed above for any purpose other than delivering the message you asked us to send.

We also disclose information where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information, we do not rent or trade it, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

How long we keep it

Package and notification history stays for as long as your account is open, because it is the record of what we told you and when. Ask us to close an account and we delete the personal information in it, other than what we must keep for tax and accounting.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@shiptrace.ai. An account owner can remove a recipient from an alert at any time, and any number can remove itself by replying STOP to any message.

Children

ShipTrace is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes to how we use your information will be told to account owners by email.
