Terms of service
Last updated 20 August 2026
These terms cover use of the ShipTrace portal and the smart tracking labels we sell, and are between you and ShipTrace, LLC.
The service
ShipTrace shows you where your packages are, using smart labels you buy from us and attach to them. Accounts are created by us at a customer’s request; there is no self-serve signup. You are responsible for what the people you give accounts to do with them.
What we can and cannot promise
A label reports its own position on its own schedule, over cellular or by being seen by a nearby device. We show you what we received and when we received it. We do not promise continuous coverage, and silence from a label can mean no network as easily as a flat battery — so we say “not reporting since” rather than claiming a package has stopped. Nothing here is a guarantee of delivery, and ShipTrace is not a carrier.
Text message programme
What it is. ShipTrace Alerts sends operational notifications about packages tracked in your own ShipTrace account — that a package was reported at or away from a location you defined, or that it has not arrived by a deadline you set. It is not marketing, and it never carries promotional content.
Who sends it.ShipTrace, LLC is the sole sender. Every message is sent by ShipTrace in ShipTrace’s own name, to people who use ShipTrace, about packages tracked in ShipTrace. We do not send messages on behalf of any other business, we do not resell or lend this messaging programme to anyone, and we do not permit third-party or affiliate marketing on it. Where a message names a company, it is naming the recipient’s own account so they know which packages the alert concerns — it is not an advertisement for that company or for anyone else.
Who gets messages. An account owner adds a mobile number in the portal and confirms they have that person’s permission to contact them. That number then receives one message asking it to confirm, and receives nothing further unless it replies YES. Numbers are never bought, rented, shared between customers, or collected from a public form.
How often. Message frequency varies and depends on your own packages and the alerts you configure.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply. ShipTrace does not charge you per message.
Stopping. Reply STOP to any message to end all messages to that number. We will not text that number again, and an account owner can also remove it from the alert in the portal.
Help. Reply HELP, or write to hello@shiptrace.ai.
Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Numbers and consent are handled as described in our privacy policy: no mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. How a number joins and leaves the programme is set out in full on our text message alerts page.
Labels and orders
Labels are sold in the quantities shown at checkout, at the price shown at the time you order, plus shipping. Where you have turned on automatic reordering, you authorise us to charge your saved card when your stock falls below the level you set, up to the maximum you approved. You can turn that off at any time.
Acceptable use
Track your own packages. Do not use ShipTrace to track a person, to track anything unlawful, or to attempt to reach data belonging to another customer. Do not use ShipTrace alerts to send marketing of any kind, or to reach anyone who has not agreed to hear from you. We may suspend an account that does.
Your data
Your package data is yours. We use it to run the service and handle it as described in our privacy policy. Ask us and we will export or delete it.
Liability
ShipTrace is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change and account owners will be told by email about anything material. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Questions go to hello@shiptrace.ai.
